Length of course: 520 hours

Description:

This qualification is designed for a person seeking work as a horticultural worker who will undertake a range of tasks unde  limited supervision. Tasks could cover some or all of the various sectors of arboriculture, floriculture, landscape, nursery, parks and gardens, turf management and production horticulture.

Packaging Rules       

A total of 17 units of competency must be completed, including the four compulsory units listed below.Units should be selected in accordance with work undertaken and industry advice.

RTC2702A    Observe environmental work practices 15
RTC2705A    Work effectively in the industry       20
RTC2801A    Participate in workplace communications 20
   
   

Electives:

Students must choose from the list of electives that are listed with the Subject Lecturer.

Career opportunities:

Many horticultural enterprises are mixed activity operations, and the industry increasingly requires employees who are not limited to a specific area of the horticulture industry, but are multiskilled across the main areas of horticultural, and also often agricultural work.
